The Neighborhood - Sinchon's Only Microbrewery! 신촌

The Neighborhood is the only microbrewery that I know of in Sinchon, and their beer is on par with any microbrewery that you would find in the States. The owner is from the UK I believe, but I am pretty sure that he is not the one that is in charge of the brewing because this company originally came from Busan.

The beer that is served at the neighborhood is brewed by Kalmegi brewing, and as I said above the first bar that they opened is in Busan and Sinchon is their second location. The beer is not brewed at either the Sinchon or the Busan location, but at a cheaper place out in the countryside and then shipped to the bars. The owner and the staff in this place are all super nice and friendly, and this place has the typical atmosphere of a microbrewery in the West.

There is a pretty extensive list of beers that are sold at the Neighborhood and there is something that anyone could enjoy. Most of the beers are quite strong and are more what you may be used to back home if you are a fan of the microbrewery scene in your home country. It can be difficult to find good beer in Korea, but if that is what you seek, the Neighborhood is the place for you.

In addition to serving beer, the Neighborhood has a few food items on their menu as well. A lot of them are on the expensive side. I have tried the pizza which is not bad, but I would not come to this place for the pizza. I have also had the mozzarella balls which come with a salad. All of this was good, but it was quite a bit smaller than I expected. Only four mozzarella balls come with an order.

The beer in this place is exceptional. The food is adequate. If you are a big fan of beer, then you should definitely give this place a try.
