Beoldde Chicken 벌떼치킨 - Hongdae 홍대

Beoldde Chicken is a fried chicken place that is right next to Hongdae exit 9 making it an extremely convenient place to meet people especially those who do not know the area well.  I have to admit that although the chicken at this place is good, Korea is filled with fried chicken places and there are definitely better ones than this place.  This place made it on here because of the location, convenience, price and atmosphere.

Beoldde Chicken has the atmosphere of a Korean style hof and would be a great place to meet some friends for a night of drinking.  As anyone who lives here knows, Koreans love to drink beer with their chicken and perhaps some soju as well and this is the type of atmosphere that is conducive to that type of night.

The chicken that we ordered was a bit spicy and was topped with cheese.  There was a pretty regular amount of batter surrounding sizable pieces of meat.  These were not skimpy pieces of meat that we were being served here.  The sauce as I said was spicy which was complemented by melted cheese on top.  All of this was also served with a side of cheese pizza which appeared to be a tortilla with melted cheese on it.  It was kind of like a cheese quesadilla without the top tortilla.

The food here was not spectacular, but it is definitely a solid restaurant.  In Hongdae, particularly that part of Hongdae, there are not all that many good restaurants and this is definitely one of the better ones.
